About Us
It was back in 1985, when, with more determination than luck, I acquired my first pedigree dog; a magnificent Pyrenean Mastiff. But only a few months later, a degenerative sickness took that puppy away from me forever. Until that moment, I did not know what it was like to suffer from losing a dog, a loss that was somehow remedied when the breeder gave me another puppy. "Duque", as our family named him in honour of its predecessor, came to fill the enormous void that the irreparable loss had meant to us. When "Duque" reached a full-grown age we decided that it was time to give it a companion, "Osita". Misfortune struck again, and ten days after its arrival, a viral infection snatched her from us forever. Shortly thereafter "Iris" arrived.
"Duque" was just a little over two years old when it died poisoned as a result of the despicable and cowardly act of some lunatic, thus plunging us into deep sadness. At that point we decided to move to another house, which is our current residence.
When "Enma" arrived she was only two months old and we could continue enjoying our passion; the dog shows.
When "Iris and Enma" were fully grown we decided not to use them for breeding, and instead we placed them in another family environment as female companion dogs.
"Azor and Susi", two beautiful specimens, blond as beer, arrived at our house at the age of three months and filled the "void" left by the previous ones. "Azor", at 11 months, was sent over to Cártama, a town of the province of Malaga, in which he lived until he was 14 years of age.
"Susi" (Ñapacha de la Tajadera del Tío Roy) was the female that gave us the first litter, ten beautiful puppies -all of them were raised-, which ended up rewarding our efforts and tenacity with the breed.
The name of "El Bellotero” is in memory of my place of birth -Extremadura-, a beautiful town in the province of Badajoz, called Guareña, where I spent my childhood and youth.
